DIONNE CO writes, draws and makes comics in East Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on the unceded homelands of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) First Nations.
Her interdisciplinary work using comics, fiction and social research investigates the contradictions between alienation and intimacy in urban life. Dogs feature prominently in her narrative and illustrative work, providing a way to interrogate questions about what we can learn from the other-than-human world, and what it means to live together across differences.
Born in Manila of Chinese (Hokkien) descent, Dionne graduated with a Master’s degree in Urban Studies. She lives with dogs Horace and Lila and enjoys reading novels.
